Free Residential School
The Swamiji during the course of his extensive interaction with the panorama of life in society was quick to grasp that the people who have reached high level of progress and prosperity are those exposed to modern quality educational institutions in the global English medium. But children of poor parents particularly from rural areas do not have an access to it, as there are hardly any arrangements in our society to provide such modern high quality education either on charity or at modest costs.
Therefore, Sri Mahantalinga Swamiji set himself to the task to set right this lacuna in our society by starting a Free Residential English Medium School for poor children from rural areas.
The Free Residential English Medium School will provide free boarding and residential hostel accommodation facilities comparable with the best of the institutions around for about five hundred children from Standard Sixth up to the SSLC level. The School will be equipped with facilities for computer training, laboratory, library.
The ground floor of the building houses a spacious kitchen with steam boiler cooking and also an expansive space for prayer and prasada Nilaya. The second and the third floors house the rooms for hostel residence of the students while the library, laboratory and the teaching class-rooms are provided for on the fourth and fifth floors of the building.
Admission to the Free Residential English Medium School from class sixth eventually carrying up to the SSLC level is open to meritorious children of poor parents from rural areas irrespective of cast to which they belong on the basis of entrance examination conducted by the School during April/May at the commencement of the academic year.
The math provides the students food, hostel accommodation with beddings, school uniforms, text books and other writing materials, general medical facilities and expert teaching facilities free of cost to all the resident inmate children except during vacations.
All the students are required to maintain strict school discipline, physical fitness, high ethical and moral standards and to develop qualities of self-help and service-mindedness.
The task of providing quality education with facilities envisaged above is stupendous task requiring perennial financial support resources to meet the recurring costs year after year. Even on a modest calculation it is estimated that an expenditure of about Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 would be required to meet the cost of educating each student. Nevertheless, it is the conviction of the Swamiji that our society is not bereft of pious kind hearted souls who would willingly contribute towards the noble cause of providing for the education of poor needy children. With a view to felicitate participation of the liberal minded persons in this Jnana-Dasoha following schemes offered to contributors.
